Extending the capacity of distinguished legal practices.
Senior-led legal research, drafting and advisory support for Commonwealth and international law firms.
Specialist Legal Support
A discreet extension
of your practice.
Masl Legal provides qualified, experienced legal professionals who work as a discreet extension of your practice. We deliver research memoranda, drafted instruments, regulatory analysis and substantive advisory work product to the standard your clients expect — under your supervision and within your brand.
We do not compete with your practice. We complement it. Every instruction we receive is treated as an extension of your firm's own work — your clients see only your name, your letterhead and your professional standards.
Our Approach
Three commitments that
define every engagement.
i
Senior practitioners, not junior production.
Every instruction is handled by qualified lawyers with direct subject-matter expertise. The lawyer who scopes the work is the lawyer who delivers it.
ii
Integrated discreetly within your practice.
Deliverables are prepared in your house style, formatted for immediate deployment under your name. Your clients see only your firm's work product.
iii
Governed by the standards your regulator expects.
Our processes are designed to support the supervisory obligations of SRA, BSB and Commonwealth-regulated practices. Audit trails are maintained as a matter of course.
Our Proposition
How we differ from
a volume processor.
— What we are not
A volume processor.
- We do not operate as a document factory or outsourced production line. There is no conveyor belt, no template library deployed indiscriminately, and no junior-led assembly process dressed as senior work.
- We do not offer generic legal research retrieved from databases and presented without analysis. Every memorandum engages with the facts of the instruction, applies the relevant authorities, and arrives at a reasoned conclusion.
- We do not substitute speed for substance. Turnaround commitments are agreed at the scoping stage and are met — but never at the expense of the quality or accuracy of the work product.
— What we are
Your specialist partner.
- Every instruction is handled by experienced, qualified lawyers with direct subject-matter expertise. The lawyer who scopes the work is the lawyer who delivers it.
- Our work product integrates into your existing client relationships without disruption or visibility. Documents are prepared to a standard that permits immediate deployment under your firm’s name.
- Quality assurance is embedded at every stage — from the initial scoping of the instruction, through internal peer review, to the final delivery of the completed work product.
- Our engagement model is built upon trust, discretion and the long-term alignment of professional interests. We succeed only when the work we produce meets or exceeds the standards your clients expect of you.

Engagement
structures
Our engagement structures are designed to accommodate the operational requirements of legal practices of all sizes. We offer fixed-fee project work for discrete instructions, monthly retained arrangements for firms requiring ongoing capacity, volume-based pricing for high-frequency users, and bespoke scoping for complex or multi-phase matters.
Method
How we work.
Our engagement process is designed to be straightforward, transparent and compatible with the supervisory obligations of regulated law firms. Every instruction follows a defined pathway from initial scoping to final delivery, with clear accountability at each stage.
01
Scope & Instruct
You provide the instruction. We agree the scope of work, the deliverable format, the applicable quality standards, the turnaround commitment and the fee basis before any substantive work commences. Ambiguity in scope is addressed at this stage, not after delivery.
02
We Deliver
A qualified lawyer with subject-matter expertise produces the work to the agreed specification. Every deliverable passes through our internal peer review process before it reaches your desk. The review is substantive, not procedural.
03
You Review & Deploy
You receive the completed work product for your final review and approval. Any amendments, clarifications or supplementary instructions are addressed promptly. The deliverable is formatted for immediate deployment within your practice, under your name and to your standard.
04
Ongoing Relationship
Over time, we develop familiarity with your firm's standards, preferences, house style and client expectations. This accumulated institutional knowledge reduces turnaround times, minimises revision cycles, and produces work that requires progressively less adaptation before deployment.
Operating Principles
Six commitments that
govern every engagement.
Specialist Focus
We concentrate on defined practice areas in which we possess genuine depth of expertise and current knowledge. We will tell you candidly if an instruction falls outside our competence.
Senior-Led Delivery
Every matter is supervised by a senior lawyer with direct subject-matter experience. The lawyer responsible for the quality of the deliverable is identified to you at the point of instruction.
Seamless Integration
Work product is designed to be deployed directly under your firm's brand. Documents are formatted to your house style, delivered in your preferred file formats, and prepared for immediate use.
Regulatory Confidence
Our operational processes support the supervisory obligations imposed by the SRA, the BSB and equivalent Commonwealth regulators. Audit trails and quality records are maintained throughout.
Flexible & Scalable
Whether you require support on a single instruction or an ongoing retained basis, our engagement structures adapt to the volume, complexity and urgency of your requirements.
Trust-Based Relationships
Our commercial model depends entirely upon the quality of the work we produce. We do not rely upon contractual lock-in, minimum volume commitments or exclusivity arrangements.
Governance
Compliance &
information governance.
The integrity of our service depends upon the robustness of our compliance infrastructure. The protocols set out below are designed to ensure that your engagement with Masl Legal strengthens, rather than compromises, your ability to demonstrate effective governance.
i.
Data Protection & GDPR Compliance
All personal data processed in the course of our work is handled in strict accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. A data processing agreement is executed prior to the commencement of any engagement involving the processing of personal data. We maintain comprehensive records of processing activities and apply technical and organisational measures proportionate to the sensitivity and volume of the data entrusted to us.
ii.
Information Security
Client materials are stored and transmitted using encrypted channels. Access to work product is restricted on a need-to-know basis and controlled through role-based access permissions. Our information security protocols are aligned with the principles of ISO 27001 and subject to periodic internal review. Remote access requires multi-factor authentication; portable storage media are prohibited.
iii.
Regulatory Supervision Support
Our operational framework is designed to support the supervisory obligations of firms regulated by the SRA, the BSB and equivalent Commonwealth regulators. We maintain comprehensive audit trails, version control records and approval documentation that enable instructing firms to demonstrate effective supervision over externally supported legal work.
iv.
Confidentiality & Conflicts
Confidentiality is the foundation upon which our entire service is constructed. All personnel engaged on client matters are bound by comprehensive non-disclosure obligations that survive termination. Information barriers are maintained where concurrent instructions require. We operate a conflicts checking process at the point of instruction.
